建筑信息模型(Building Information Modeling)，于1975年由"BIM之父"----乔治亚理工大学的Chuck Eastman教授创建，是以建筑工程项目的各项相关信息数据作为模型的基础，进行建筑模型的建立，通过数字信息仿真模拟建筑物所具有的真实信息。它具有信息完备性、信息关联性、信息一致性、可视化、协调性、模拟性、优化性和可出图性八大特点。
BIM认证考试鉴定等级描述：
初级技术员:专项技能水平达到相当于中华人民共和国职业资格技能等级五级。
中级技术员：专项技能水平达到相当于中华人民共和国职业资格技能等级四级。
高级技术员：专项技能水平达到相当于中华人民共和国职业资格技能等级三级。

Description of BIM certification examination accreditation levels:
Junior Technician: The level of special skills reaches level 5 equivalent to the vocational qualification skill level of the People's Republic of China.
Intermediate technicians: The level of special skills reaches level four equivalent to the vocational qualification skill level of the People's Republic of China.
Senior Technician: The level of special skills reaches level three equivalent to the vocational qualification skill level of the People's Republic of China.
